The Occupational Therapist will conduct evaluations and provide OT services for students from kindergarten to eighth grade. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Occupational Therapist with strong skills and ability to administer OT evaluations; comprehensive, insightful diagnostic skills: ability to interpret a variety of informal and formal OT assessments; knowledge of specific approaches and tools to help students, teachers and families better address with all factors which interfere with the learning process; experience working collaboratively to address student needs; experience writing IEPs and collaborating in IEP meetings; comprehensive knowledge and understanding of child development; a strong understanding when further evaluations may be beneficial; ability to communicate effectively with parents and outside agencies to support student learning; appreciation for students from diverse family and socio-economic situations; strong written and verbal communication skills; an open-mind, sense of humor and the ability to calmly approach stressful situations.
