About The Position

This position functions autonomously to deliver occupational therapy treatment, either through referral or direct to consumer. The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients, develops treatment plans, assesses patient responses, and monitors progress toward treatment goals. The role helps ensure patient needs are met through access to care, patient experience, and quality metrics, and assists with program development and enhancement to meet patient and community needs. The position is based at OLG Ortho Outpatient Rehab and is listed as days, full time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy.
• Current occupational therapy license in the state of practice, eligibility for licensure by examination, or reciprocity from another state.
• Certified Hand Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency in computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and professionally to people at varying levels throughout the patient care process.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills when working with a variety of patients and diagnoses.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain flexible with fluctuating schedules based on patient demand.

Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and provide treatment programs to facilitate patient-specific goals.
• Assess each patient’s response to treatment and recommend changes to the treatment plan as appropriate.
• Maintain patient records according to documentation standards, policies, and procedures.
• Attain established productivity levels, including goals related to access to care, patient experience, and quality.
• Assist in program development and enhancement to meet patient and community needs.
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, introducing oneself appropriately, explaining services or procedures, requesting permission, and adapting communication style.
• Remain knowledgeable about applicable federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements, and ensure compliance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
