About The Position

The Senior Occupational Therapist provides therapeutic services, including patient evaluation, treatment, and education, in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team in acute care. The role assists with daily operations and clinical mentorship, working closely with the area Supervisor and Clerical Coordinator to support strong staff performance and compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements. The position also supports staff education, clinic organization, quality and efficiency, and continuous productivity monitoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy school.
• Two years of relevant clinical experience with a varied patient population.
• Occupational Therapist license in the State of Michigan, required upon hire.

• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients and provide education in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
• Assist the Supervisor in monitoring staff competence and clinical performance.
• Organize clinic in-services and support staff education.
• Assist the Supervisor with hiring, orienting, delegating, and organizing the work of co-workers and staff.
• Monitor treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency.
• Monitor productivity on a continuous basis.
• Assist with performance improvement projects.
• Directly monitor and support the clinic’s technical aide coverage and activities.
• Assess and treat patients appropriately by applying knowledge of the growth, development, and behavioral dynamics of different age groups.
