About The Position

The Senior Occupational Therapist provides therapeutic services in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, including patient evaluation, treatment, and education. In acute care, the Senior OT supports daily operations and clinical mentorship, working closely with the area Supervisor and Clerical Coordinator to help staff perform effectively and meet Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements. The role also supports staff competence and education, clinic organization, productivity, quality, and efficiency. The position is based at Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital, a 280-bed acute care campus offering medical, surgical, emergency, obstetric, and critical care services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; graduate of an accredited occupational therapy school.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience with a varied patient population.
• Michigan State Occupational Therapist license required upon hire.

• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients, and provide therapeutic education.
• Assist the Supervisor in monitoring staff competence and clinical performance.
• Organize clinic in-services and support staff education.
• Assist with hiring, orienting, delegating, and organizing the work of co-workers and staff.
• Monitor treatment costs and financial support in relation to quality and efficiency.
• Continuously monitor productivity.
• Assist with performance improvement projects.
• Directly monitor and support technical aide coverage and activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth, development, and behavioral dynamics across age groups, and perform appropriate assessments and treatments.
