About The Position

Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy program in hospital, institution, or community setting to facilitate development and rehabilitation of mentally, physically, or emotionally disabled persons by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university in Occupational Therapy from an Occupational Therapy approved school; no substitutions.
  • Knowledge of Database software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Current Oklahoma license of Occupational Therapy.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Must have approval from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision to supervise students, new graduates, technicians and aides.
  • Must possess and maintain approval from the "Board" of the "unlicensed personnel" which they are to supervise.
  • Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment and maintain throughout employment.
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
  • Good judgement, problem solving, oral and written communication, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of inpatient medical environments and equipment such as oxygen/ventilation/respiratory apparatuses.
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to urgent medical situations that may arise with high risk or unusual patient populations.
  • Ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner, and demonstrate the use of good written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers, executive, and medical personnel, and others in a positive manner.
  • Ability to provide clear and accurate direction and guidance including the ability to train staff.
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Must be physically able to maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
  • Must have experience with the geriatric and pediatric populations.
  • Must have understanding of current Medicare and Medicaid billing regulations.
