About The Position
AHRC New York City is seeking a Preschool Occupational Therapist for Francis of Paola ELC in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This role involves working with children with developmental disabilities in a 10-month program with a 30-day summer session. The therapist will be responsible for assessments, goal setting, IEP preparation, and providing direct therapy within the classroom setting to maximize student function.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters in Occupational Therapy
- New York State License required
- Ability to work effectively with children with developmental disabilities
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric experience highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret assessment data and present attending students’ needs and capabilities.
- Establish relevant and attainable short term and long term goals which reflect assessment data.
- Prepare IEP, daily treatment plans and Progress Reports as needed.
- Work within the classroom setting and work with classroom staff to create an environment which maximizes function and compensates for dysfunction.
- Provide purposeful activities or methods, employed to develop, maintain, improve, restore and/or maximize function and compensate for dysfunction.
