About The Position

This opportunity is for an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to work in a Southern Westchester School District, primarily with Elementary School students and some Middle School hours. The position offers both fee-for-service and full-time options, with compensation determined by the service provided, professional experience, and license/certifications. Family of Kidz, established in 1998, is dedicated to helping children with special needs develop skills for greater independence and an enhanced quality of life. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited university with a degree in Occupational Therapy (new grads welcome).
  • Current New York State Occupational Therapy License or current NYS Occupational Therapist Assistant licensure.
  • Passionate to work with children and their families.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with various professionals.
  • Self-starter and independent problem solver.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement creative individual and/or group therapeutic interventions for all children on your caseload.
  • Administer and write up occupational therapy evaluations.
  • Ongoing communication with lead supervisors & coordinators, specifically related to case management.
  • Maintain professionalism with families, school teams, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely attendance and billing logs.
  • Create and maintain schedules with assigned individual families/school personnel.
  • Collects data on each IFSP/IEP goal and reports on progress quarterly.
  • Provide input and attend/teleconference initial CPSE/CSE meetings and/or annual reviews.
