About The Position

Outpatient Occupational Therapist at our Santa Monica Hand Therapy location. This role involves treating a hand/elbow caseload and offers opportunities to work directly alongside a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). We provide a mentorship program for obtaining CHT certification, including access to resources like an UE Journal Club and CHT Study Group. For existing CHTs, we offer free access to specialized journals and an extensive Continuing Education Department with various learning formats.

Requirements

• Graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) -accredited school of occupational therapy
• CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license
• 1 year of experience required

Nice To Haves

• Experience with treating a hand/elbow caseload
• Desire to study for the CHT exam, if not already certified
• At least two years of experience in the application of custom splinting pre and post-op orthopedic
• Minimum two years in adult rehabilitation; hand and splinting experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise assistants and aides and contribute to case management.
• Stay current and up to date with occupational therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).
• Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment, from evaluating and creating a plan of care to treatment and discharge.
• Maintain positive level of interaction with centers and patients. Enhance and expand client relations with facilities and their staff.
