About The Position
Coastal Orthopedics is seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist with a strong drive to become a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons and a senior CHT, evaluating and treating a wide range of upper extremity conditions, trauma, and post-surgical cases. The position includes a structured CHT mentorship program designed for professional growth, featuring direct supervision, weekly case reviews, splinting workshops, an annual CEU stipend for upper-extremity courses and conferences, and assistance with HTCC exam preparation. The program also ensures consistent logging of the 4,000 required hours for hand therapy experience.
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Active, unencumbered Florida OT license (or eligibility to obtain).
- A clear, demonstrated passion for upper extremity rehabilitation and a commitment to obtaining your CHT designation.
Nice To Haves
- Level II Fieldwork in an outpatient orthopedic or hand therapy setting.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat a diverse caseload of upper extremity conditions, trauma, and post-surgical cases.
- Work side-by-side with fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons and senior CHTs.
- Participate in weekly case reviews and splinting workshops.
- Log hours toward the 4,000 required hours of hand therapy experience.
- Pursue continuing education for upper-extremity courses, conferences, and HTCC exam prep.
