About The Position

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush (MOR) is seeking Occupational Therapists to join their rehabilitation team and participate in their Occupational Hand Therapy Fellowship Program. This full-time position will be based at the Orthopaedic Building in Chicago, IL. The fellowship offers an educational experience where candidates will plan, implement, and evaluate patient care programs to restore function, minimize disability, and help patients reach their maximum performance levels. The ideal candidate must meet specific documentation requirements for consideration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Masters or Doctorate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
  • Current State of Illinois Occupational Therapy license required or be eligible to attain a license prior to the initiation of the Fellowship Program
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in UE/Hand Therapy OR must have at least a level 2 fieldwork placement in hands.
  • Occupational Therapists must have current NBCOT certification.
  • CPR Certified

  • Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  • Membership in the American Society of Hand Therapy (ASHT)

Responsibilities

  • Participates fully in the Educational Instruction of being a Fellow with Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush
  • Evaluates patient and gathers appropriate information to determine accurate clinical diagnoses and treatment plan.
  • Establishes appropriate, functional and objective goals based upon clinical examination.
  • Devise detailed treatment and care plans for patients.
  • Provides exceptional patient care and service.
  • The ability to maintain friendly, cordial relations with all clients and employees; maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that results in positive and respectful working relationships.
  • Cultivate relationships with patients and the community.
  • Provide continuous communication with referring physicians and other referral sources to ensure a consistent level of care.
  • Maintain patient charts, clinical logs and checklists necessary for compliance.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality with regard to medical records per company policies and procedures and assures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Communicates well in a professional setting.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
