The Occupational Therapist will work within the Children’s Treatment Centre, providing client-focused interventions for preschool-aged children, their families, and child care providers at CHEO and in the community. This role involves assessment, intervention, and consultation for children with physical and/or developmental disabilities, including prescription and fitting of orthotics, adaptive equipment, and mobility devices. The therapist will collaborate with physicians, patients, families, and inter-professional teams, ensuring effective communication for patient care programs. Responsibilities also include participating in ongoing education, supervising students, facilitating support groups, representing Occupational Therapy on committees, and engaging in quality improvement initiatives. The role may also involve assessment and treatment for school-aged children in the Integrated Home and Community Care department, with services potentially provided virtually, in homes, or in community schools.
