About The Position

Origami Rehabilitation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing comprehensive rehabilitation for children and adults with neurological, developmental, mental health, and orthopedic conditions through residential and outpatient programs. This PRN Occupational Therapist Assistant position will implement tailored occupational therapy care plans, precisely aligned with assessments and physician prescriptions. Effective, timely, and inclusive communication with stakeholders is the heart of our mission, vision, and core values. This position will provide treatment at our Lansing-based campuses, including Origami Main in Mason, Origami Greenlawn in South Lansing, and Origami West in West Lansing. The individual in this role must be flexible and adaptable, as the work location will vary based on organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapist Assistant licensure in the state of Michigan.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certification (provided by Origami)

Responsibilities

  • Model appropriate behavior conducive to a positive working and therapeutic environment.
  • Provide care to clients under the direction of the occupational therapist by implementing the plan of care, obtaining data related to the treatment provided, and collaborating with the occupational therapist to modify care as needed.
  • Document daily notes and service billings in a timely fashion and in accordance with procedure to provide complete documentation for client charts.
  • Proactively initiate and follow-through with tasks utilizing appropriate problem-solving techniques to facilitate communication flow and prompt resolutions.
  • Maintain caseload levels at a level deemed reasonable by the OT supervisor.
  • Observe all rules of confidentiality as they pertain to program participants internally, and in working with outside individuals and/or agencies.
  • Provide caseload coverage for OT services.
  • Other duties as assigned by the OT Supervisor.
