About The Position

Theradynamics is hiring Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTAs) at a skilled nursing facility in New York. Requirements

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Valid New York State OTA license.
• Good organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical reasoning in treatment planning, implementation, and monitoring patient progress.
• Recognize when standard patient protocols or treatment plans need modification to meet individual patient needs and report this to the therapist.
• Understand the role of therapy in the context of the patient's age, total needs, and environment.
• Perform age-appropriate advanced competency skills in practice with respect to individual patient problems.
• Assess patients' and caregivers' learning needs and capabilities, considering age, level of understanding, and emotional status.
• Consistently report patient progress and status to the therapist to support updates to goals and modifications to the treatment program.
• Use appropriate methods and materials for effective learning, monitor responses to education, and adapt the program appropriately.
