Occupational Therapist Assistant OTA Home Care
About The Position
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to provide home-based therapy to patients in the Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale territories. The OTA meets with several patients each day in their homes to discuss treatment needs and goals and help develop customized, comprehensive therapy plans. The role works closely with the OTR and other members of patients’ healthcare teams to arrange follow-up care, educate patients about lifestyle changes, and provide a positive, affirming presence. The ideal candidate provides compassionate care, communicates effectively, and is comfortable managing multiple cases.
Requirements
- Must be licensed or registered by the state.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to remain positive and compassionate while working with patients over an extended period.
Responsibilities
- Meet with patients from diverse backgrounds and compassionately discuss their health concerns and therapy needs.
- Assist with evaluations, development of the rehabilitative plan of care, and periodic re-evaluations as required.
- Participate in preparing clinical and daily progress notes and periodic summary reports.
- Work with the OTR to instruct patients and families and assist in teaching exercise programs.
- Write daily progress notes and submit them within 48 hours.
- Work with other doctors and healthcare team members to arrange follow-up care and help educate patients about lifestyle changes.
