About The Position

Fountain Inn Post Acute is a 66-bed facility seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant. We are undergoing positive changes with new management and nurse leadership, offering an intimate environment to get to know patients and colleagues. We value staff feedback and aim to create a supportive workplace where employees feel heard. The Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant will assist the Staff Occupational Therapist with patient-related activities and direct patient care.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Staff Occupational Therapy Assistant Board of the State.
  • Proficient in computer skills such as inputting data into programs such as Casamba and Point Click Care.
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state.
  • Employee must meet continuing education requirements per state practices.
  • Must maintain a license in good standing at all times with the state board.

Responsibilities

  • Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board.
  • Treat patients per the physician treatment plan.
  • Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
  • Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
  • Participate in in-services training program for other staff in the facility.
  • Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, recertification documentation, per Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and governmental and third-party payer requirements.
  • Record treatment changes per policy and procedures.
  • Instruct patient’s families or nursing staff in maintenance program and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services.
  • Participate in discharge planning.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area.
  • Report any problems with department equipment so that it is maintained in good working order.
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues.
