About The Position

Presbyterian is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support patient recovery through hands-on, goal-driven interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, helping patients restore function, independence, and confidence in everyday life. Requirements

  • Two to three years of college-level coursework, Associate Degree, or Diploma in Occupational Therapy Assistant required
  • Current Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license required
  • Less than one year of Occupational Therapy experience required

Responsibilities

  • Implements individualized treatment programs to improve physical, psychosocial, and developmental function and support independence in activities of daily living.
  • May modify treatment approaches within the established plan of care developed by the Occupational Therapist based on patient status and progress.
  • Assists with the selection, setup, and use of adaptive equipment and/or splinting to promote patient independence and functional performance.
  • Provides education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on home programs, adaptive strategies, and preventive care.
  • Completes timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional and departmental standards.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary care team members to support coordinated care.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and standards related to quality assurance, safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in ongoing education, in-services, and required meetings to support professional growth and clinical competency.
  • Contributes to special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
