About The Position

Mercy Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Youngstown, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health and Mercy Health, is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for a PRN position. The role involves providing superior patient care that exceeds industry standards and patient expectations. The hospital is a 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility dedicated to offering exceptional care to the Youngstown community and is CHQ Accredited. Requirements

• Current state licensure/certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Current BLS/CPR.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Strong clinical documentation skills.
• Possess near vision acuity for accurate reading of equipment and recording in patient medical record.
• Must be physically able to lift, support and move patients.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in the care of patients preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in follow-through programs and home exercises.
• Assist with patient scheduling and post treatment charges to patient records daily.
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with all regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements.
• Maintain treatment equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, Corporate Compliance Agreement, and applicable laws and professional standards.
