Located in the heart of Western Oklahoma, Great Plains Regional Medical Center is a 62-bed Joint Commission accredited facility that provides a full continuum of care from acute to intensive. Great Plains Regional Medical Center provides Full Spectrum of Outpatient Therapy Services to Restore Mobility. Whether you’re recovering from a sports injury or medical procedure, our outpatient therapy department offers a comprehensive range of therapeutic options, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology therapy, and sports medicine. We work with patients to reach their maximum potential to get through daily life activities and work. Nothing is one-size-fits-all—we offer individualized care to meet your unique needs.

Requirements

  • Certification from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program culminating in an Associate's degree
  • Current and valid state OTA license or certificate of practice or equivalent in the states where services are rendered
  • CPR certification (when required)

Responsibilities

  • Assessing patients’ ability to perform daily living and occupational tasks safely and effectively.
  • Developing and implementing individualized plans of care, utilizing appropriate therapeutic modalities and techniques.
  • Monitoring and documenting progress through subjective and objective measures, with modifications made as necessary.
  • Providing education to patients and their families or caregivers regarding functional deficits, adaptive strategies, and the use of assistive equipment.
  • Playing a key role in discharge planning.
  • Supervising certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with state laws and professional standards.
