Occupational Therapist Assistant / COTA
About The Position
Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a PRN position in their Neurorehab Outpatient clinic in San Antonio, TX. The role involves providing 1:1 patient care in 60-minute treatment sessions, focusing on functional rehabilitation for adults with neurological injuries. The COTA will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of therapists in an innovative outpatient setting, utilizing the latest technology and equipment. Rehab Without Walls is a revolutionary neurorehabilitation program that moves individuals outside of institutional settings into their natural home and community environment through a continuum of care. It is designed to help individuals who have experienced brain injury, spinal cord injury, or stroke/CVA regain functional capabilities by providing care in the home, community, workplace, or school, promoting greater health and improving functional skills and independence.
Requirements
- Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program
- Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification and license to practice in state of application
- Current CPR certification
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 1 year experience preferred, related to treatment of complex neurological injuries
- Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in exercise, ADLs, functional activities, and the application/use of assistive devices in accordance with the treatment plan established by the Occupational Therapist
- Assist Occupational Therapist in the collection of outcome measures and completion of complex treatment procedures
- Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities as directed by the Occupational Therapist
- Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all care provided
- Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to the AOTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
- Perform other duties as assigned
