About The Position

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a PRN position in their Neurorehab Outpatient setting in San Antonio, TX. The role involves providing 1:1 patient care in 60-minute treatment sessions, focusing on functional rehabilitation for adults with neurological injuries. The COTA will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of therapists in an innovative outpatient setting, utilizing the latest technology and equipment. Rehab Without Walls is a neurorehabilitation program that helps individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, or strokes regain functional capabilities by providing care in their home, community, workplace, or school environments.

Requirements

Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program
Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification and license to practice in state of application
Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques
Current CPR certification

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 1 year experience preferred, related to treatment of complex neurological injuries

Responsibilities

Assist patients in exercise, ADLs, functional activities, and the application/use of assistive devices in accordance with the treatment plan established by the Occupational Therapist
Assist Occupational Therapist in the collection of outcome measures and completion of complex treatment procedures
Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities as directed by the Occupational Therapist
Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development
Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all care provided
Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to the AOTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
Perform other duties as assigned
