About The Position

The University of Washington Medical Center-Montlake Outpatient Rehab Therapy - Neurologic has an outstanding opportunity for an Occupational Therapist 2. This is a Part-Time position working 20 hours per week on the Day Shift.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program and successful completion of American Occupational Therapy certification examination.
  • Current Washington State license to practice as an Occupational Therapist or a valid probational certificate issued by the State of Washington to practice occupational therapy.
  • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
  • Licensed by the WA State Department of Health to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of Washington.

Nice To Haves

  • More than 2 years of experience in neurologic outpatient occupational therapy.
  • More than 3 years of independent practice in occupational therapy.
  • Strong desire to progress clinical skills and knowledge to practice evidence-based therapy in a multidisciplinary clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Administer treatments, training and physical agents as determined by the evaluation in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.
  • Evaluate and administer treatment for functional living skills such as self-care, homemaking, range of motion, muscle testing, cognitive, visual perception, vocational and avocational skills, splinting, assistive technology and community integration.
  • Report data in both written and oral form following the policy and procedures of the OT department and the Medical Center.
  • Provide supervision to students, COTAs, aides, and volunteers.
  • Participate in the operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in Quality Improvement activities.
  • Provide input into formulating the budget, assists in evaluating department performance versus budget controls and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines.
  • Ensure that patient charges are accurate and entered in a timely basis.
  • Participate in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
