About The Position

The Vermont Department of Labor's Vermont Occupational Safety and Health Administration (VOSHA) enforces the OSH Act of 1970 to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses through enforcement, training, and outreach. The Occupational Safety Compliance Officer will conduct inspections, accident investigations, fatality investigations, recommend citations, and work directly with employers and employees. They will work directly with other employees and complete all required OSHA training courses. This individual will be professional, courteous, and direct when working with the public.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge in general industry safety, construction safety, or comparable and relevant safety experience
  • Professional, courteous, and direct when working with the public
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, industrial management or closely related field
  • OR Three (3) years or more of experience in plant safety, industrial engineering, plant maintenance engineering, or industrial work.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Compliance Officer is extremely valuable
