HR Consulting Solutions is a full service HR consulting and executive search firm that has been retained by a confidential manufacturing client to conduct a search for an experienced Occupational Health & Safety Officer to join their team in Western Kentucky. Requirements
- 5+ years of safety experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
- Experience conducting safety audits, investigations, and employee training
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) strongly preferred
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead all workplace safety initiatives for the manufacturing facility
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and applicable federal, state, and local safety standards
- Oversee Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and related compliance efforts
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Maintain safety documentation, records, and compliance reporting
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, injuries, and near misses
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective action plans
- Monitor workplace trends and safety performance metrics
- Assist with workers’ compensation and return to work coordination as needed
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning
- Develop and facilitate employee safety training programs
- Promote a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Partner with supervisors and managers to reinforce safe work practices
- Provide coaching and guidance regarding workplace safety expectations
- Assist with new hire safety orientation and ongoing employee education
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams regarding equipment safety and process improvements
- Participate in process hazard analyses and safety reviews
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety and operational efficiency
- Stay current on emerging safety regulations, best practices, and industry trends
