About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an OHS (Occupational, Health, and Safety) Intern. This internship will provide valuable exposure to various aspects of OHS practices within our organization and is designed for students or recent graduates who are interested in gaining practical experience in the field. As an OHS Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the OHS team in implementing and maintaining safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization. The program will be a fulltime paid summer internship working for Panasonic Energy at the Gigafactory. The program will be 12 weeks in length, and is planned to occur between Monday, May 17 and Friday, August 6, 2027. This date range is subject to change. Must be able to attend the entirety of the internship.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled as a fulltime student at an accredited four-year college or university
• Completion of at least two years of full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) in a Bachelor’s degree program
• Basic knowledge of project management processes and tools
• Basic knowledge of EH&S regulations, workplace hazards, and safety standards
• Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct through inspections and audits
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to write and communicate technical information clearly and concisely
• Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to apply principles of thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
• Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
• Minimum 3.2 GPA
• Must have completed a minimum of 2 years at an accredited university
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis at the time the internship begins and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status
• This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization.
• Wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, implementation, and evaluation of EH&S policies and procedures
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with EH&S regulations
• Participate in the identification and evaluation of workplace hazards and recommend appropriate control measures
• Support incident investigations, including collecting and analyzing data, and identifying root causes to prevent future occurrences
• Assist in development and delivery of EH&S training programs for employees
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote safety initiatives and ensure EH&S requirements are integrated into daily operations
• Assist in the compilation and analysis of EH&S data, preparing reports, and presenting findings to management
• Stay up to date with current EH&S regulations, permits, and records in accordance with regulatory standards
• Contribute to the development and promotion of a strong safety culture by organizing safety campaigns, events, and awareness programs
• Other duties as assigned.
