About The Position

East Penn Manufacturing is seeking a dedicated Occupational Health Nurse (RN) to join our progressive on-site Medical Center team on a per diem basis. This position plays a vital role in supporting employee health, safety, wellness, and quality by providing clinical care, injury assessment, health education, and occupational health services in a manufacturing environment. This 1st shift per diem opportunity offers flexible scheduling based on the needs of the department, with hours typically scheduled between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The Occupational Health Nurse works closely with employees, physicians, supervisors, and management to promote a safe workplace, support regulatory compliance, and ensure timely and effective care for work-related injuries and illnesses. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse seeking a flexible schedule while making a meaningful impact on employee well-being in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Note: Training and orientation schedules will be coordinated based on department needs and the candidate's experience and may include time spent on an alternate shift during the onboarding period.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the on-site Medical Center during assigned shift
  • Conduct physical assessments of injured or ill employees and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Coordinate medical treatment and referrals with physicians and outside healthcare providers when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor employee health concerns and provide education on workplace health and wellness initiatives.
  • Remain current on OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and applicable federal and state health standards.
  • Assist in developing and updating occupational health procedures, protocols, and programs.
  • Maintain awareness of workplace conditions, environmental hazards, and job-related health risks.
  • Communicate health, safety, and wellness concerns to management and employees as appropriate.
  • Support company initiatives focused on injury prevention, employee well-being, and regulatory compliance.
  • Respond to workplace medical emergencies and provide first aid or emergency care as needed.
