About The Position

As the Occupational Health Nurse in Grand Rapids, MI you will develop and administer employee health, wellbeing, and preventative health services. The Occupational Health Nurse will manage medical surveillance and training related to Corporate Medical Services, Be Well, and EHS requirements. Also responsible for facilitating care/case management for employee illness and injury.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current State Licensure as a Registered Nurse required
  • 3-5 years of experience in occupational health, case management, and clinical nursing required
  • Certifications in First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, and AED.
  • PPE training

  • CAOHC certification (if required by facility).
  • Knowledge of community medical services for referrals.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate referrals, complete forms, communicate with physicians, monitor cases, and facilitate return to work.
  • Assist with forms, communicate with physicians, and coordinate return to work.
  • Conduct fitness assessments, drug/alcohol screens, periodic testing, initial injury/illness assessments, direct care, emergency care, and vaccination programs.
  • Identify opportunities, lead Be Well initiatives, coordinate screenings, health fairs, and wellness sessions.
  • Conduct regulatory training and coordinate First Responder training.
  • Provide counseling, consult with managers, build partnerships, and maintain communication with relevant teams.
  • Ensure a safe working environment, promote cooperation, maintain compliance, and manage health records and medical facilities.
