The Occupational Health Nurse-RN provides focused nursing care through the assessment and treatment of occupational-related illnesses and injuries within a poultry complex. This role is responsible for maintaining Federal, State, and company recordkeeping for OSHA and Workers’ Compensation, completing post-offer drug screenings, and reviewing medical histories and other required forms. The nurse will administer first aid, nursing, or emergency care for workplace injuries and illnesses, assist with medical cost management, and partner with workers' compensation adjusters and case managers. A key part of this role involves utilizing an electronic medical record for accurate documentation and recordkeeping. The nurse will also serve as a member of the Safety and Ergonomics committee, develop wellness initiatives, lead ergonomics efforts, and manage specific employee health programs. Additionally, the role includes conducting new hire orientations, educating employees on preventative health, maintaining medical supplies, assisting with accident investigations, and communicating with medical, legal, and insurance personnel.
