About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant I to join our Occupational Health team. In this role, you will provide patient care under the direction of a physician in ambulatory and procedural settings, while supporting both clinical and administrative functions. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care—assisting with procedures, collecting and documenting health information, and helping guide patients through their care journey from admission to discharge.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR at least 1 year of recent direct patient care experience (within the last 3 years)
  • Current certification as one of the following: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – AMT, Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – NHA
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required upon hire)
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks such as POCT, immunizations, and injections
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and patient safety practices

  • Radiology certification or training (if applicable to role responsibilities)

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care in accordance with Medical Assistant scope of practice
  • Support physicians and clinical staff during examinations and procedures
  • Collect, document, and maintain accurate patient health information
  • Assist with patient intake, discharge, and education
  • Perform point-of-care testing (POCT), immunizations, and injections as needed
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Promote patient safety, cultural competency, and a positive care environment
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, and colleagues
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures
