Obstetrics and Gynecology physician
About The Position
This locum tenens Obstetrics and Gynecology physician position is based in Fredericksburg, Virginia, in an inpatient setting with in-house call coverage. Coverage is needed ASAP and is ongoing. The average daily volume is 16–20 patients, and the physician rounds on assigned patients. The facility uses Epic and has five RNs and two PAs/NPs. It is a Level II trauma facility with a Level 3 pediatric facility designation. Hospital privileges are not required; temporary privileges are available. The physician will manage low- and high-risk pregnancies, perform routine and complicated deliveries including C-sections, interpret fetal heart rate monitoring, provide gynecologic care as needed, and collaborate with nursing and support staff.
Requirements
- Board certified or board eligible.
- Licensed in Virginia or eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
- BLS certification.
- Ability to manage low- and high-risk pregnancies and perform the listed required procedures, including routine and complicated deliveries, vaginal deliveries, low-forceps deliveries, C-sections, breech and multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs, and interpret FHR monitoring (NST/CST/FSE).
