About The Position

The Obstetrician/Gynecologist provides clinical services across a broad obstetrics and gynecology scope. Services include inpatient Labor and Delivery coverage, inpatient gynecological coverage such as ER consultations and emergency gynecologic surgery, gynecologic surgery, office obstetrics and gynecology, and women’s preventive care. The position contributes to Alameda Health System’s efforts to provide equitable, just, high-value reproductive healthcare and participates in a collaborative, person-centered care model. The role also supports medical student and resident training and works with Certified Nurse Midwives and Nurse Practitioners across inpatient and outpatient services.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.).
Completion of an approved residency in an appropriate specialty.
Current board-eligible or board-certified status in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.
Valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number.

Responsibilities

Provide inpatient Labor and Delivery coverage and inpatient gynecological services, including ER consultations and emergency gynecologic surgery.
Perform gynecologic surgery and provide office obstetrics and gynecology services and women’s preventive care.
Contribute to efforts to establish Alameda Health System as a leader in equitable, just, high-value reproductive healthcare.
Participate in the collaborative, person-centered care model.
Provide timely, quality surgical care to patients with gynecologic surgery needs, with support from subspecialists in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Urogynecology, and Gynecologic Oncology.
Train University of California at San Francisco medical students and Kaiser Oakland Obstetrics and Gynecology residents during their rotations.
Collaborate with Certified Nurse Midwives and Nurse Practitioners to support inpatient and outpatient services.
