Obstetrician and Gynecologist (Open Rank Faculty)
About The Position
UIC has a large medical school and OB/GYN faculty are actively involved with teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. In addition to general OB/GYN, the Division has Global Women's Health, Family Planning and FPMRS Sections. The Department has a thriving OB/GYN Residency Program with 7 residents per year. The ideal candidate must demonstrate experience and excellence in general obstetrics and gynecology, including ambulatory care, gynecologic surgery and inpatient obstetrical care. Experience teaching/supervising and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows highly preferred. Must have great communications skills.
Requirements
- MD or equivalent
- Board Certified or Board Eligible - American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG)
- Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Illinois
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching/supervising and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows highly preferred
- Great communications skills
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate experience and excellence in general obstetrics and gynecology, including ambulatory care, gynecologic surgery and obstetrical care
- Experience teaching/supervising and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows highly preferred
- In-house Labor and Delivery, and Obstetrical Emergency Room coverage as attending physician
- Serve on committees as nominated by Department leadership
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
