About The Position

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks an Obstetrical Technician for its Birth Center department. The role maintains sterile instruments and other equipment needed for obstetrical care, assists with training on new products, maintains unit supplies, and processes requisitions and shipment verification.

Requirements

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a surgical tech training course.

Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and procure supplies for the Birth Center and Antepartum rooms.
• Decontaminate, sort, process, and inventory surgical instruments and special equipment.
• Check for and remove expired supplies.
• Request equipment and monitor repairs as needed.
• Assist with training for new products.
• Process requisitions and verify shipments.
