About The Position

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks an Obstetrical Technician for its Birth Center department. The role maintains sterile instruments and other equipment needed for obstetrical care, assists with training for new products, maintains unit supplies, and processes requisitions and shipment verification.

The position maintains appropriate inventory levels and procures supplies for the Birth Center and Antepartum rooms. It is responsible for decontaminating, sorting, processing, and inventorying surgical instruments and special equipment; checking for and removing expired supplies; and requesting equipment and monitor repairs as needed.

Requirements

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a surgical tech training course.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper inventory levels and procure supplies for the Birth Center and Antepartum rooms.
• Decontaminate, sort, process, and inventory surgical instruments and special equipment.
• Check for and remove expired supplies.

• Maintain sterile instruments and other equipment necessary for obstetrical care.
• Assist in training for new products.
