About The Position

The Entry OBS Operator role is responsible for setting up the OBS machine and blank parts to print specifications using CNC controls. This role requires attention to detail in recalling programs, installing correct tooling, and making adjustments as needed. The operator will use various measuring instruments to inspect parts and identify material types, ensuring proper disposal of scrap according to QA standards. A key aspect of the role involves full knowledge of JDE programming, including tracking Kanban card status and history, as well as sending, starting, and ending cards. The operator will utilize and maintain Drawings, Non-Cad Process Sheets, and Operating Instructions, while consistently demonstrating safe work practices and maintaining a clean work environment. The position demands completing all required work within expected timeframes with excellent quality, and modeling Team Member Expected Behaviors and Henny Penny core values. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 1-3 years of experience in metal fabrication or CNC machine operation.
  • Ability to frequently move objects up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions on process sheets.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
  • Knowledge of basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
  • Ability to understand manufacturing processes such as Kanban, JDE, BOM viewer, method sheets, etc.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, background check screen, and motor vehicle screen (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Setting up the OBS machine and blank parts to print specifications using CNC controls.

  • Correctly using calipers, micrometer, height gauges and protractors to inspect parts.
  • Identifying material types and practicing proper disposal of scrap as set by QA.
  • Having full knowledge of JDE programing such as; tracking Kanban card status and history. As well as sending, starting and ending cards.
  • Utilizing and maintaining Drawings, Non-Cad Process Sheets and Operating Instructions.
  • Demonstrating consistency in practicing all safety procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Completing all required work within expected time requirements with excellent quality.
  • Modeling Team Member Expected Behaviors and Henny Penny core values.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
