About The Position

Seeking a Locum Tenens OBGYN Physician for supplemental coverage at an inpatient facility in Wilson, NC. This is a call-only position with a 24-hour beeper call schedule, typically from 9a to 9a, including weekends (Fri-Sun). The call ratio is 1:4 with a 15-minute response time and a 25% callback rate. Patient volume is typically 3-8, with approximately 5 phone consults and 4 admissions. The annual delivery volume is 650. Rounding is included. Support staff includes 2 RNs and 1 MA. Procedures and duties include managing low and high-risk pregnancies, FHR interpretation, OB ultrasounds, amniocentesis, routine and complicated deliveries, repair of 3rd and 4th-degree lacerations, surgical GYN, laser certification, and circumcisions. The department has 12 beds and the facility is a Level II Trauma Center. MediTech EMR is used. Temporary privileges are available.

Requirements

• Active NC License
• BC/BE (Board Certified/Board Eligible)
• ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Clean Record

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour beeper call coverage (9a-9a), including weekends (Fri-Sun).
• Manage low and high-risk pregnancies.
• Perform FHR interpretation and OB ultrasounds.
• Conduct amniocentesis.
• Perform routine and complicated deliveries.
• Repair 3rd and 4th-degree lacerations.
• Perform surgical GYN procedures.
• Utilize laser certification.
• Perform circumcisions.
• Participate in rounding.
• Admit patients.
• Handle phone consults.
