OBGYN Physician (ER)
About The Position
We are seeking an OBGYN Physician specializing in Emergency Room coverage for an inpatient setting in St. Louis, MO. This is a Locum Tenens position with an ASAP start and ongoing coverage needs. The role involves providing clinical care for pregnant patients up to 6 weeks postpartum, managing both low and high-risk pregnancies, and performing various procedures including deliveries and ultrasounds. The physician will work 12-hour shifts and collaborate with a dedicated support staff including RNs, APPs, sonographers, and technicians. The facility is a Level I Trauma Center with OB Hospitalist and EM backup available.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE)
- Licensed in MO or IMLC
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Ability to perform low & high-risk pregnancy management
- FHR interpretation
- OB Ultrasounds
- Amniocentesis
- Routine & Complicated delivery management
- Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
- Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures only
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat pregnant patients up to 6 weeks postpartum presenting to the OB ED
- Manage low and high-risk pregnancies including FHR interpretation and OB ultrasounds
- Perform routine vaginal deliveries and low forceps deliveries
- Manage complicated deliveries including C-sections, breech, multiple births, and VBACs
- Collaborate with APP support staff, RNs, and sonographers to provide comprehensive care
