About The Position

Ascension St. Vincent OB/GYN Residency Program is seeking a PRN Board Certified OB/GYN Physician Faculty Member. This is a great teaching opportunity in an immersive academic atmosphere within the ObGyn residency program. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior faculty member to learn outpatient staffing, resident teaching and formation and practice management from a team of experienced faculty. Working at our Outpatient Clinic, the Primary Care Center, you become a part of something very special. This position is more flexible than your average clinical position. It is extremely rewarding to care for all persons - rich, poor, vulnerable, immigrant, refugee, coworker. In this work, you will be joining others with a similar mission and vision. You will be working primarily with OB/GYN residents at various levels but will also encounter learners in every field from Family Medicine residents to APPs and Medical Students.

Requirements

  • Must Be Board Certified
  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
  • Evaluate and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
  • Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accept patient referrals from other physicians.
  • Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
