This role involves assisting with office-based procedures in an OBGYN setting, adhering to aseptic techniques. Responsibilities include handling instruments, managing specimens, performing disinfection, conducting point-of-care (POC) testing, and entering orders. The Medical Assistant will also room patients, prepare exam/procedure rooms, and perform routine clinical duties such as taking vital signs, administering limited medications, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining examination rooms. The position requires assisting physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) with patient care, equipment preparation, sterile techniques, and surgical procedures. This includes preparing rooms with necessary supplies, materials, instruments, and equipment, and ensuring the proper care and handling of all instruments and equipment. The role also involves assisting with patient preparation, transportation, and positioning, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy during procedures. The Medical Assistant will observe patients for any changes in condition and report them to the medical team. A strong understanding of sterile technique and infection control principles is essential. The role includes chaperoning and assisting with intimate patient examinations and performing accurate POC testing.
