Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
A minimum of one year experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic, physician practice or urgent care setting
Strong knowledge of medical correspondence, managing electronic medical records
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Team player, able to work with provider and other team members of the care team.

Nice To Haves

Certification as a Medical Assistant or diploma from an accredited school is highly preferred.
Experience as a Phlebotomist is desirable but not required.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
Schedule appointments and maintain medical records.
Take and record vital signs and medical histories.
Prepare patients for examination.
Draw blood.
Administer medications as directed by physician.
Take Patient Vital Signs
Take Medical Histories
Prepare Patients for Medical Tests and Examinations
Assist Physicians During Examinations
Explain Medical Procedures to Patients
Sterilize Medical Instruments
Remove Sutures
Call or electronically enter Prescriptions into Pharmacies
Prepare Patients for X-Rays
Administer Topical, Oral, or Intramuscular Medications
Transcribe all notes and documents related to treatments.
Other duties as assigned
Travel to clinics within the region as needed for business operation or staffing coverage requirements.
