About The Position

Plaza OBGYN is a well-established private OBGYN practice in Houston's Museum District. The practice focuses on helping patients manage all issues related to peri-menopause and menopause. It also offers well-woman exams and early pregnancy monitoring. The Insurance Specialist is a full-time, on-site position responsible for managing insurance-related processes to support accurate and timely reimbursement.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of OB/GYN coding
• Knowledge and experience in OB/GYN coding is required
• Experience with E-Clinical medical software
• Proficiency with practice management and ability to generate financial data
• Experience in a medical office setting, preferably in an OB/GYN
• Ability to interpret insurance policies and explanation of benefits
• Proven customer service skills with a patient-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Verifying patient insurance coverage
• Obtaining authorizations and referrals
• Confirming benefits prior to visits
• Reviewing claims prior to submission
• Resolving billing discrepancies
• Addressing denials or payment issues with insurance carriers
• Credentialing
• Review of insurance contracts
• Appealing any contract whose rates are low
