About The Position

Ascension St. Vincent Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified OBGYN MD/DO with 4 years of experience for their new OB Hospitalist program at Ascension St Vincent Carmel Hospital in Carmel, Indiana. This role involves managing labor up to and including delivery, providing urgent postpartum care, offering back-up and consultation for the midwifery service, caring for unassigned patients in the OB Unit or Emergency Room, and triaging patients presenting to the unit. The hospitalist will also assist in cesarean deliveries when requested and communicate with Maternal Fetal Medicine on consults. The facility is a Level III maternity center with a Level III NICU and 24-hour dedicated OB anesthesia. The position is part of a rapidly growing suburban market with a predominantly private payer mix. Carmel, Indiana, is a highly desirable location known for its quality of life.

Requirements

• Board Certified OBGYN MD/DO
• 4 years experience
• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)

Responsibilities

• Management of labor up to and including delivery, as requested by generalist physicians
• Urgent postpartum care as requested by the assigned physician
• Providing back-up and consultation for midwifery service
• Caring for all unassigned patients who present to the OB Unit or Emergency Room
• Triage of all patients who present to the unit unless directly admitted
• When requested, assist in cesarean deliveries
• Communicate with Maternal Fetal Medicine on consults & actions when requested
