Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • BLS Certification within 30 days and maintain current
  • Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, ROP, Paramedic Training Program, Certified Surgical Scrub Technician or equivalent required. (State Specific)

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of patient care and clerical duties to assist and support the organization and function of the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP).
  • Works cooperatively with and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Provides direct care to patient of various ages (neonate, adolescent, adult).
  • Interacts with physicians, patients, families/significant others, hospital staff and community agencies in providing basic care.
  • Is responsible for completion and processing of the birth certificates, and "Declaration of Paternity" forms.
