About The Position

The OB Technician performs a variety of duties in the care of patients in the hospital, under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This role provides care for patients and their families across the life span, considering their physical, psycho-social, educational, and safety needs appropriate to the age of patients served. Responsibilities include direct patient/family contact, departmental duties, material management, communication, and departmental housekeeping. The OB Technician follows and understands department standards and recommended practices. A key responsibility is performing scrub duties for cesarean section deliveries and occasional vaginal deliveries. The position requires availability for up to 12 weeks of full-time orientation on the day shift.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Maintain American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Must possess current cognitive knowledge in medical terminology and abbreviation.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year Direct Patient Care experience in a Healthcare setting.
