About The Position

OB Surgical Tech, Labor and Delivery Unit. Labor and Delivery is a high risk specialized unit that provides care to pregnant individuals prior to and during labor, childbirth, and the immediate postpartum period. This unit has 17 private birthing suites, 5 Triage/PACU beds, 4 OR Rooms, 3 bed Obstetric Emergency Department care, and a specialized Antepartum unit that provides care for women with high-risk pregnancies and post-partum diagnoses needing supportive care.

Requirements

• High School/GED
• Successful completion of a program of Surgical Technician
• Work experience and successful credentialing may be considered in lieu of formal program.
• BCLS within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Functions as a member of the surgical team under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Performs scrub functions and other roles, which support the perioperative plan of care.
• Assures the provision of comfort, safety and quality perioperative care for the patient.
