About The Position

St. Francis Medical Center is a leading comprehensive healthcare institution in Los Angeles, providing vital healthcare services to the community. It is recognized for its full range of diagnostic and treatment services in various specialties, including Obstetrics. St. Francis is a Comprehensive Stroke Center, STEMI Receiving Center, ED Approved for Pediatrics, Geriatric ED, Level III Neonatal ICU, and Level II Trauma Center. The OB Technician performs patient care and clerical duties to support the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP) unit, working cooperatively under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role provides direct care to patients of various ages and interacts with physicians, patients, families, staff, and community agencies. A key responsibility includes the completion and processing of birth certificates and "Declaration of Paternity" forms.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
BLS Certification within 30 days and maintain current
Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, ROP, Paramedic Training Program, Certified Surgical Scrub Technician or equivalent required. (State Specific)

1 year of experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of patient care and clerical duties to assist and support the organization and function of the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP).
Works cooperatively with and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Provides direct care to patient of various ages (neonate, adolescent, adult).
Interacts with physicians, patients, families/significant others, hospital staff and community agencies in providing basic care.
Is responsible for completion and processing of the birth certificates, and "Declaration of Paternity" forms.
