About The Position

Parkview Health is recruiting a board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYN to join its hospitalist team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role provides comprehensive inpatient obstetrical and gynecological care at Parkview Regional Medical Center and Parkview Randallia Hospital, with 24-hour in-house coverage. The position is full time and entails 79 24-hour in-house shifts per year. The hospitalist collaborates with Perinatology to manage inpatient antepartum high-risk patients, supports PPG OB/GYN and Family Practice providers, works with PPG Midwives, and coordinates maternal transports from Parkview Community Partners to Parkview Regional Medical Center. The role also includes teaching and mentoring OB/GYN residents and medical students. Parkview’s Women’s and Children’s service line is committed to improving health equity, access, and maternal health outcomes across the region. Parkview Women’s & Children’s Hospital includes labor and delivery, antepartum, postpartum, cesarean, and newborn ICU facilities. Parkview Randallia Hospital’s Family Birthing Center offers labor and delivery rooms, a tub room, triage rooms, a newborn nursery, birth planner services, lactation support, and on-site WIC assistance. Candidates should demonstrate clinical excellence, strong communication skills, current skills to practice the full scope of OB/GYN, and confidence and expertise in handling obstetrical and gynecological emergencies. They should be willing to partner with service-line leadership, nursing, and other specialties on patient safety and quality initiatives.

Requirements

Board certification or board eligibility in OB/GYN; the role specifics also state that American Board Certification is required.
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school.
Current, valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Indiana; Ohio licensure upon request.
Completion of an accredited ACGME residency program.
Clinical excellence, superior communication skills, and an active, current skill set to practice the full depth and breadth of OB/GYN.
Confidence and expertise in handling obstetrical and gynecological emergencies.
Willingness to partner with service-line leadership, nursing, and other specialties on patient safety and quality initiatives.
During the agreement, substantial ownership interests in companies, firms, or services competing with the hospital in medical services or facilities require prior written approval; suspected or known conflicts of interest must be disclosed in writing promptly.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 4 years of OB/GYN experience is preferred.
