About The Position

University Health Physicians (UHP) is seeking a full-time BC/BE OB/GYN Hospitalist to join the University Health Women’s Care (UHWC) group. This role is located in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and will practice at University Health - Lakewood Medical Center. UHWC combines the expertise of academic medicine with a primarily non-teaching setting. The OB/GYN Hospitalist will be responsible for providing comprehensive inpatient and emergency obstetric and gynecologic care. The UHWC practice is supported by certified Nurse Midwives, maternal fetal medicine physicians, a female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeon, and a gynecologist oncologist. The position offers an academic appointment and salary commensurate with the candidate's background. The Department of OB/GYN is dedicated to evidence-based care and resident education, with strong sub-specialist support. Physicians in the department provide backup to the midwifery practice, consultation services to the Community and Family Medicine Department, and instruction to Family Medicine Advance Obstetrical Fellows for Cesarean Section training.

Requirements

• BC/BE OB/GYN physician
• Excellent obstetric and gynecologic care skills
• Ability to provide full-spectrum inpatient and emergency OB & GYN care

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a primarily non-teaching setting is ideal, but the role is within an academic group.

Responsibilities

• Patient management
• Care of Antepartum & Postpartum patients
• Provide coverage for GYN inpatients
• Provide emergency surgical care for gynecologic patients presenting through the ED
• Serve as an expert clinical resource for L&D staff
• Routine patient assessment and triage
• Provide consultation services to Community and Family Medicine
