Amentum is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Electronics or SONAR Technician to work aboard government operated Surveillance Towed Array Sensory System (SURTASS) asset operating at sea. Technicians will be on a 6 month on and 6 month off rotating mission. As a member of the SURTASS Operation Center (SOC) and the SURTASS team, you will be responsible for performing operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting on all SURTASS mission equipment in accordance with Periodic Maintenance Schedule (PMS) and other reference documents in support of fleet requirements. This role offers the opportunity to work on SHF SATCOM Communications, Processing, Passive and Active Arrays and other supporting systems. You will complete basic qualified in SURTASS Operation Center and Array Operation positions and participate in the deployment and retrieval of Tow Arrayed evolutions and all other SURTASS operations. You will assist the SURTASS Technical Advisor (STA) and other program managers in compiling data, procedures, including maintaining required records and logs, monitoring, and sending record Naval Message Traffic. You will maintain an accurate logistics inventory as provided by the Government, and provide periodic updates. May be assigned COMSEC, logistics, 3M or safety collateral duties. Required to participate in Amentum and Government Compliance Training programs. This position involves sharing common spaces over lengthy deployment periods and working closely with others in a small working area and in a shipboard environment. This position requires close cooperation and working relationships with active-duty military, defense contractors, and government personnel.
