The duties listed below assume that the O&M I has completed his training to be fully competent in each skill. Any one position may not include all duties nor do the example of duties include all tasks, which may be found in the position of this class. What You'll Do The duties specified are only those typically required for the job. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Safely prepares equipment, tools, material and protective devices needed for various jobs. Operates tools, hauls and positions materials for assisting various crafts. Operates forklifts and hoists. Performs necessary rigging in connection with assigned duties. Assists all journeymen classifications. Performs coal, ash handling and fuel oil unloading duties. Perform all entry-level plant operations duties. Serve in a Trades Helper capacity as it applies. May perform general custodial/housekeeping duties. Employees may be required to perform train track maintenance. Ensures proper handling of chemicals and waste according to rules and regulations. Other duties as assigned. Employee must work safely and efficiently in the performance of their job duties. Must maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers and the public. Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and have the ability to accurately and legibly complete applicable paper work. May be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime.
