About The Position

Family of Kidz is hiring and has immediate openings for a NYS Certified Teaching Assistant on Long Island. This part-time, hourly position follows the school calendar with potential for extended school year. The role involves providing instructional services and support to students under the supervision of a certified teacher, preparing teaching materials, and assisting in data collection and behavior management. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children, possesses strong communication and organizational skills, and holds a valid Teaching Assistant Certification.

Requirements

Teaching Assistant Certification: Level I, Level II, Level III or Pre-Professional
High School Diploma or equivalent
Passionate to work with children, families and therapists
Work directly with student and/or classroom
Sterling values, high integrity
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Exposure to the practice of maintaining a high level of confidentiality
Excellent time management/organizational skills

Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

Nice To Haves

Associates degree preferred.
Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum a plus
Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide instructional services and support to students under the supervision of a certified teacher
Help prepare teaching materials and environment to support instruction
Familiarity with basic behavior intervention strategies and principles
Participate in maintaining data collection to ensure success of academic and behavioral plans.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and staff.
Possibility of assisting in managing the behaviors of students and crisis intervention.
Participate in team meetings as appropriate.
